Avoid using expired cosmetic products in eyes
London: Are you using eye products such as Mascara or eye-liner to enhance beauty. Be cautious as these products can be dangerous for your eyes. This fact has been revealed by the research conducted by British scientists on the occasion of National Eye Health Week The research, was conducted by eye hospital group Optegra. It was found that 70 percent of British women use expired mascara. It has also been observed that users are not even aware about ill-effects of expired make-up products.
Out of date eye shadow, eye liner and mascara can be infected of bacteria and they may damage your eyes.
Anna Maino, ophthalmic surgeon says that users should be cautious about using these products and they will actually do a favour if they get rid of such products. Such type of make-up may cause irritation in eyes.
How to avoid infection
- Get into make-up hygiene habits by sharpening eye pencils
- Wash brushes regularly
Time period after which cosmetic products can be discarded
- Mascara and liquid eyeliner: Four Months
- Liquid foundation/creamy eye shadow: Six months
- Powder eye shadow: 12 months
- Pencil eyeliner, lip liner: Don’t share these stuffs
