Five Gadgets that are Worth

September 16

Samsung Tab S

The 3G variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is priced at Rs. 37,800 and the Galaxy Tab S
10.5 is priced at 44,800. Both will hit the Indian market in the second week of July.
The device will be available in two screen sizes – 8.4 inch and 10.5 inch – priced at Rs 37,800 and
Rs 44,800. Both the variants feature Super AMOLED display and Exynos 5 Octa processor (1.9 GHz
quadcore + 1.3 Ghz quad core). The devices have the latest Android Kitkat operating system, 8MP
rear camera, 2.1MP front camera, 3GB RAM and 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 128 GB).
Pros:
Samsung’s keyboard is incredibly easy to type on.
Both devices are very S5-esque, but there are a few touches that are just really cool.
Cons: While the Tab S has less bloat than other Samsung devices I’ve used, there’s still a lot going
on.  Can be slightly choppy when things are happening in the background. Like installing apps, syncing
files, or the like.  Single notification shade. I just can’t get used to this.
It’s easy to cover the speakers on the 8.4-inch model. Depending on which way you rotate the
device to enter landscape mode
Conclusion:
The 8.4-inch model and highly recommend it, but if you’re a larger tablet kind of person, the 10.5 is
equally as fantastic.

HP pavilion x360

HP launched HP Pavilion x360 in india with 360 hinge for ultimate flexibility. The HP Pavilion x360
comes with 360-degree hinge which enables users to convert it from notebook to a stand, tent or a
tablet.11.6-inch LED antiglare touch screen.Runs Windows 8 and has a 11.6-inch LED screen. Like
an affordable sports convertible, the HP Pavilion x360 is stylish, compact and can transform itself in
a few seconds. As with other flexible notebooks, you can fold the x360’s keyboard back for an
entertainment-friendly stand mode, put the notebook in tent mode for tabletop use, or condense the
whole thing into an 11.6-inch tablet. Fueled by a 2.17-GHz Intel Pentium N3520 Processor with 8GB
of RAM, the x360 provided mostly dependable performance for Web surfing and video streaming.
The notebook lasted 3 hours and 43 minutes on our battery test (Web surfing over Wi-Fi at 100
nits).
Price: Flipkart Rs. 38,990
Amazon.in 38,590.00
Naaptol.com Rs 39,990
Pros: Attractive and versatile design

Snappy keyboard; Loud speakers; Affordable

Cons:
Poor battery life; Dim display

Conclusion: The HP Pavilion x360 is an affordable and stylish touch-screen laptop with loud
speakers and a bendable design, but its battery life and display are lacking.

Samsung Gear Live
Samsung has come up with the wearable technology version of Andriod, Samsung Gear Live. The
gadget is provided with various Android applications. Users can receive the latest posts and updates
from social media apps, chats from preferred messaging apps and notifications from your choice of
news, shopping and photography apps. It runs on a 1.2 GHz processor and a Super AMOLED
display and the gear supports voice control and customizable clock face.
Pros:
Ip67 dust and water resistant.
Step tracking built right into Google Fit.
Cons:
Sub-par screen.
Only two colors available.
Conclusion: Buy it if you are in hurry to have the watch though a lot such watches will be coming up in the
market.
Price: Available on Play Store at Rs 15900.

Apple iPod touch(5G) 32 Gb-64GB
Available in vibrant colours like pink, yellow and blue, the iPod touch is equipped with a 5
megapixel sight camera with 1080p HD video recording, 4-inch Retina display, A5 chip and
FaceTime camera, . The 32GB version will be available for Rs 20,900, while the 64GB version will
be priced at Rs 24,900.
Pros:
A substantially redesigned and much-improved version of the prior iPod touch.Enhanced screen
quality to battery life and audio performance.
Cons: New colors are so-so, and rear shells of 32GB and 64GB models—including a loop
connection button and protruding camera lens—are a little unusual by Apple design standards.
A 2013-vintage 16GB model regrettably lacks the rear camera features altogether. Apple IPOD Touch
32GB

Price: Amazon.in- Rs. 21,000.00
Flipkart- Rs. 23,899.00
Conclusion:
If you’re content with your fourth-gen, this is probably not worth the upgrade, but if you have an
older iPod that’s ready for retirement, or are indeed just jumping on the iOS bandwagon for the first
time and are happy with your current phone, this is a great place to start.
