Taj Mahal in danger
Agra: India’s pride and symbol of ‘Incredible India’ campaign Tajmahal cannot survive for long unless drastic measures are taken by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). This is perception of eminent Mughal historian and author R. Nath.
He has also written to the union Culture Minister Shripad Naik emphasizing importance of conservation and restoration of 365-year-old world heritage.
He says “There is an alarming increase in the number of visitors to see the this white marble monument. Every year six million visitors come to see Taj and many of them enter without ticket as children under 15 are not required to buy entry ticket. The Taj cannot bear this burden ad infinitum. Pollution is other problem which has dented the beauty of Taj Mahal in the past and Supreme Court had to issue an order to close all industries near Taj Mahal. R. Nath is eminent Mughal Historian.
